LOCKNEY, TX – This week marks a significant stretch of state testing across Lockney ISD, with students at all campuses participating in various assessments.
At Lockney Elementary, students will be focusing on math throughout the week. Testing begins Tuesday, April 22, with third grade. Fourth grade will test on Wednesday, April 23, followed by fifth grade on Thursday, April 24. In support of their students, the campus is encouraging parents, families, and friends to leave positive sidewalk messages the evening before each test. Sidewalk chalk will be available on-site for those wishing to participate in this effort to uplift and motivate students.
Lockney Junior High will also be testing on Tuesday, April 22. Students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades will take the STAAR Math test.
Meanwhile, Lockney High School students will complete end-of-course exams over the next two weeks. The U.S. History exam is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, followed by the Biology exam on Wednesday, April 23. The Algebra exam will take place the following Monday, April 29.
In addition to testing, Lockney High School seniors are continuing to meet graduation requirements. The second group of seniors will receive CPR training on Wednesday, April 23, fulfilling an important component of their preparedness for graduation.
It will be a busy and important week district-wide as students focus on academic milestones and personal development.
