LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Longhorns gave the Wellington Skyrockets all they could handle in Tuesday night’s district matchup, but came up just short in a 3-2 loss at home.
Despite the final score, the Longhorns played a competitive and gritty game, out-hitting the Skyrockets and flashing solid defense throughout.
Lockney’s offense found its rhythm in the middle innings, scoring in the third and fifth frames to tie the game at 2-2. However, Wellington managed to push across a go-ahead run in the top of the sixth, and Lockney was unable to capitalize on late scoring chances.
Final Score:
Wellington 3, Lockney 2
