FLOYDADA, TX – The following is the March Crime Report from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

March 1st, Johnny Mendez, 44, of Floydada, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Assault on a Public Servant after driving into the area during a standoff in the 500 block of W Grover, where he struck a U.S. Marshal Task Force officer with his vehicle as they attempted to stop him.

March 8th, Deputy was dispatched to the 2500 Block of US Highway 70 regarding a family dispute. Caleb Fulford, 23, of Floydada, was arrested for Terroristic Threat after threatening to kill his mother and Criminal Mischief.

March 10th, Deputy was dispatched to the 400 Block of County Road 140 regarding a dispute over some unwanted guests. All parties were separated without further incident.

March 12th, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a burglary in the 2200 Block of State Hwy 207. The Complainant reported that her father’s home had been broken into, but it appeared that nothing was taken from the house.

March 15th, Deputy conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 70. During the stop, the deputy detected an odor of marijuana and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. Susie Salas, 30, of Lubbock, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance penalty group 2.

March 20th, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a disturbance in the 300 Block of West Spruce Street. The complainant reported that her granddaughter had assaulted her. A few days later, the complainant refused to pursue charges.

March 26th, a complainant reported to the Sheriff’s Office that someone had used his credit card online without his permission.

On March 26th, the Deputy received a call about a burglary in the 1400 Block of FM 378. The complainant reported that someone had broken into her father’s storage building.

March 27th, a complainant walked into the Sheriff’s Office and reported a sexual assault that occurred on or about October 2024. This case is under investigation.

March 29th, Deputy conducted a traffic stop on North 2nd Street in Floydada for expired registration. The deputy conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located narcotics. The driver, Adelina De Leon, 48, of Floydada, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

March 29th, a complainant walked into the Sheriff’s Office requesting a criminal trespass on multiple individuals from his residence. While in the lobby, the complainant became unruly and made threats to the officer trying to assist him. Morgan Tijerina, 39, of Floydada, was arrested for Terroristic Threat against a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest.
March 30th, Deputy responded to the 400 Block of SE 1st where a complainant reported that someone had used his credit card without his permission. This case is still under investigation.

March 30th, Jesus Garza, 45, of Floydada, was arrested in the 700 Block of East Lee Street on an active warrant from Motley County for Possession of a controlled substance. Garza was also charged with resisting arrest as he refused to comply with officers during the arrest.
