The Ladyhorns and Longhorns are heading to state! Lockney’s state powerlifting qualifiers have been putting in the work and making history. Monique Lara, Masen Rehkopf, Xavier Jimenez, ElliAnna Jimenez, and Ciara Hernandez will all be competing on the biggest stage in Texas powerlifting.
Normally, we would wait until closer to competition to highlight our athletes, but reaching the state competition is such a significant achievement that it deserves early recognition. The girls’ state meet will take place from March 11-15 in Edinburg, Texas, with 2A lifts scheduled for March 12. The boys’ state meet will be held from March 20-22 in Abilene, Texas, with R1D4 lifts on March 22.
Congratulations to all the Longhorns on their new personal records and for growing stronger every day. Let’s give them the recognition they deserve as they prepare for these monumental competitions.
