LOCKNEY, TX – The city’s trash truck is out of service due to an incident on Thursday.
A small fire broke out in the truck’s hopper after prohibited items were improperly disposed of. The fire was quickly contained, and no injuries were reported.
Officials remind residents that dumpsters are strictly for household trash only and that disposing of prohibited items (such as hazardous materials, electronics, or large debris) can lead to dangerous situations like this morning’s fire.
The city is actively working on a solution to resume regular trash pickup and asks for your patience in the interim.
