FLOYDADA, TX – Floyd County has a new County Clerk, KeeLee Rawls.
Rawls was recently named Clerk following the retirement of Ginger Morgan.
Some of the office’s work includes acting as the Clerk for County Court [Probate, Civil, Juvenile, Misdemeanor Criminal], and County Commissioners Court. In addition, the Clerk is the Chief Elections Officer for the county; acts as a recorder and custodian of vital public records, including all bonds, deeds, property records, birth and death certificates, assumed names, and livestock brands; and issues marriage certificates.
Before joining the Clerk’s office, Rawls spent more than ten years as a Vet Tech and an underwriter for crop insurance in agriculture.
The mother of three admits that she considers her family a “livestock go-getting family. We raise broilers for my oldest daughter and son to show. My oldest daughter shows lambs, pigs, and goats. But the youngest also has a lamb and pig for her to show. We show as much as we can and love every minute of it. We always want to be doing something that involves time outdoors. My kids and I never want to be cooped up inside.”
Her goal is to continue Morgan’s work and get involved in the TAC Core Legislative Group for elections and county clerk, saying, “I want to advocate for the small county process’ for elections.”
