NEW DEAL, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds were on the road for a district matchup against the New Deal Lions on Tuesday.
The Lions were able to outscore the Whirlwinds in the first quarter 14-10.
Floydada fought back in the second quarter, making an offensive run to take the lead 46-28 going into halftime.
The Whirlwinds continued their offensive pressure in the second half and would secure the victory over the Lions 92-47.
Sergio Valadez led the Whirlwinds in scoring with 24 points.
Also contributing to the win on Tuesday was Braun Hobbs (18 points), Manny Delafuente (15 points) and Ty Henderson (13 points).
Floydada remains undefeated in district play at 3-0 and will face Abernathy on Friday.
