Floydada Volunteer Firefighters Receive More Than 81 Calls

FLOYDADA, TX – Volunteers received 81 calls during 2024, with grass fires representing almost one-third (24 calls) of all requests for assistance.

Overall, the Floydada Fire Department received 45 calls for fire response, 12 for rescue or EMS standby, and another 11 for good intent.

The department features more than 30 volunteers from the community who are ready to respond at a moment’s notice. Founded in 1916, the department continues to look for new volunteers. To learn more, contact Chief Chad Guthrie (floydadafire@myreachmail.com).
