FLOYD COUNTY, TX – The Floyd County Sheriff’s office reports the following activity.
On Monday, November 11, 2024, at 8:25 am., the Floyd County Sheriff responded to a runaway. The complainant reported that the sixteen-year-old grandson had left the home sometime during the night. The juvenile later returned home.
On November 11, 2024, at approximately 5:15 pm, a deputy was dispatched to Floydada to investigate a verbal disturbance between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The parties were separated for the night pending further investigation, and no arrests were made.
On November 14th, 2024, a deputy was dispatched to 2300 US Highway 70 in Floyd County regarding a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported a 2009 Light Blue Highlander had been taken sometime during the early morning hours. Suspects also rummage through a 2009 Jeep Wrangler, taking a wallet. The Highlander license plates were captured by license plate readers in Lubbock later that day. The Highlander was spotted by an off-duty Planview Police Officer in Lockney the following day. The vehicle was located, and a suspect was arrested for Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and Possession of a controlled substance.
On November 18th, 2024, a deputy stopped a Gray Ford Fusion on US Highway 70 and County Road 162 for having a defective headlamp. Upon further investigation, the driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of greater than 0.15.
