FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds played host to the Hale Center Owls on Thursday night in their final non-district game of the season.
The Owls were able to jump ahead in the first quarter to a 7-0 lead.
After being down 14-0 in the second quarter, Floydada’s Ty Henderson found Braun Hobbs for a 70-yard touchdown to cut the lead down 14-7.
Hale Center would find the endzone twice more in the second quarter to extend the lead 27-14.
The Owls continued pressure in the second half and would be victorious over the Whirlwinds 42-20.
Floydada falls to 2-3 and will travel to Olton to play their first district game on October 11th.
