WOLFFORTH, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds continued their playoff matchup against Colorado City in the regional quarterfinals on Saturday.
The Lady Winds were victorious in game one on Thursday, winning 4-3.
In game two, the Lady Wolves jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Colorado City’s defense held Floydada scoreless to get the win 9-0 and force a game three.
In the final game between the two teams, it was Floydada who managed to get the early 4-0 lead after the first inning.
The Lady Wolves responded in the top of the second inning to cut the lead down to 4-1.
Floydada’s offense would continue its momentum in the bottom of the second and third inning, adding seven more runs and extending their lead to 11-1.
Colorado City tried to fight back late in the game; however, the Lady Winds would hold off to secure the game 13-6 and the series over the Lady Wolves.
Floydada will move on to the regional semifinals for just the third time in school history.
