HALE CENTER, TX – The Lockney Longhorns were on the road for Friday’s district matchup against the Hale Center Owls.
The Longhorns started the scoring with one run in the top of the first inning, taking a 1-0 lead.
Lockney extended their lead with two more runs in the top of the second to go up 3-0.
Hale Center struck back in the bottom of the second to cut the lead down to 3-1.
The Longhorns had a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Owls found momentum in the sixth inning, scoring fourteen runs and would win the game 17-5.
Lockney splits the series with Hale Center and moves to 1-5 in district play.
