FLOYDADA, TX – Two separate early morning armed robberies in Floyd County appear to be related but are still under investigation.
Police responded to a robbery at Allsup’s Convenience Store in Lockney on Thursday at 3:45 am. The three suspects made off with $70 in cash.
Twenty minutes later, some of the same suspects are thought to be involved in a robbery at the Allsup’s location in Floydada, where one round was fired through the ceiling of the building before they left with $200 in cash.
In addition, Allsup’s locations in Canyon and Tulia were robbed as well, leading authorities to believe the crimes may be linked.
Media reports have confirmed that two suspects in the Canyon robbery were arrested following a chase through Plainview that ended on I-27 and 34th Street in Lubbock.
No injuries were reported.
