OLTON, TX – The #10-ranked Floydada Whirlwinds were on the road for Tuesday’s district game against the Olton Mustangs.
The Whirlwinds were able to apply pressure early in the game, going up by as much as nine points in the first half.
The Mustangs fought back late in the second quarter, to cut the Whirlwinds lead down 30-28.
To start the third quarter, Floydada would go on a 7-0 run and extend their lead, however Olton fought back once again and tied the game going into the fourth quarter.
The Mustangs would take the lead late in the fourth quarter and would secure the upset victory over Floydada 56-53.
Floydada moves to 10-2 in district play and will look for redemption as they travel to Hale Center on Friday.
