FLOYDADA, TX – The district basketball schedule continues for both Floyd County schools this week as the Lockney Longhorns will make the 12-mile drive to battle the Floydada Whirlwinds in the first game of the New Year.
The Whirlwinds (13-5, 1-0) enter the game as the #7-ranked 2A team in the state and are returning from a second place finish in the 2023 Caprock Classic.
The Longhorns (5-6, 1-0) were victorious in their last district matchup against Smyer 49-46.
The JV boys will tip-off at 5:00 p.m., with the varsity boys to begin at 7:45 p.m.
