FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds hosted the Lubbock Liberty Patriots on Monday in a non-district matchup.
The Whirlwinds were able to use transition offense in the first quarter to make an 18-9 run and take the lead over the Patriots.
The Patriots fought back in the second quarter but still trailed 36-33 going into halftime.
Floydada was able to defend their lead and secure the victory, 72-66, over Lubbock Liberty.
Ty Henderson led the scoring for the Whirlwinds with 22 points.
Also contributing to the Whirlwind offense were Aiden Trevino with 16 and Braun Hobbs with 15 points.
Floydada (1-1) is back in action tonight as they host Idalou in a non-district game at 4:00 p.m.
