LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Longhorns hosted the Bovina Mustangs in their final regular-season game on Friday.
Lockney was able to start the game with a 14-6 lead after the first quarter.
The Longhorns offense continued to apply pressure in the second quarter as they scored three touchdowns and went into halftime with a 35-18 lead.
Bovina tried to fight back in the third quarter, but Lockney was able to secure the victory over the Mustangs 50-36.
With the win on Friday, the Longhorns (7-2, 4-1) secure the district championship and will enter the playoffs as the first seed.Xavier Jimenez had 284 yards of offense with 3 touchdowns.
Dyllan Thiebaud threw for 55 yards and rushed for 71 and two touchdowns.
Daniel Alvarado both rushed and caught a touchdown in the Longhorns’ victory on Friday.
