Roland Hayes (Lockney)
Roland Hayes, age 66, of Lockney, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Lockney with Kyle Brock officiating.
Roland was born November 16, 1956, in Lockney to George Albert and Mamie Lucille (Eaves) Hayes. He graduated from Lockney High School in 1974 and went on to attend West Texas State College in Canyon, Texas. Roland worked as a self-employed truck driver most of his life. When he wasn’t driving, Roland enjoyed playing dominoes and pool and going fishing. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Lockney, having been baptized there when he was a sophomore in high school.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Royce Hayes and Larry Dennis Hayes.
Those left to cherish Roland’s memory are his son, Bo (Laura) Hayes of Marlow, Oklahoma; his daughters, Luci (Tara Jo) Hayes of Marlow, Oklahoma, and Shianne (Michael) McGraw; 11 grandchildren, Hunter, Emma Jo, Briley, McKenna, Sofia, Harper, Huxley, Milo, Braxstyn, Addison and Jase; one great-granddaughter, Olivia; his brothers, Alvin Hayes of Madill, Oklahoma, Ronnie (Hopi) Hayes of Caddo Mills, Texas, Cleatis (Betty) Hayes of Lockney, and Joe (Tina) Hayes of Caddo Mills, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters, Lesca (Danny) Durham and Shirley Hayes, both of Lockney, Rita (JR.) Brown of Lorenzo, and June (Tommy) Hays of Plainview; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Hayes of Lubbock, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
