LUBBOCK, TX – The 54th Annual Ranch Day is Saturday at the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.

The event allows visitors to experience ranch life through hands-on activities and daily demonstrations.

Children will be able to become a “Ranch Hand” by completing six activities (two Ranch History, one Ranch Science, one Ranch Skill, and two other activities of choice). Once completed, they will take work cards to the Matador Office to get “paid” and can spend their hard-earned wages on prizes at the Waggoner Commissary.

In addition, there will be historical firearm demonstrations in the main gallery by Dr. Robert Tidwell, NRHC Helen DeVitt Jones, and the Endowed Interim Director of Collections, Exhibits, and Research. Happy Toy Maker, Jerry Sims, will be on the patio with toys for children to play with. A Rafter 4T Chuckwagon will be set up, and sheep and cattle will be displayed to give visitors the full ranching experience.

The National Ranching Heritage Center is located at 3121 4th Street in Lubbock, and for more information, visit www.ranchingheritage.org.
