Floydada Whirlwinds host the New Deal Lions in a district game on March 17, 2023
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds (3-11, 0-2) hosted the New Deal Lions (3-4, 2-0) on Friday in a district game.
New Deal was able to jump out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning.
Floydada was able to answer back with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the first inning.
In the third inning, the Lions would add four more and extend their lead to 8-2.
Floydada would add three in the third to cut the Lions’ lead to 8-5.
The Lions would take control of the game in the fourth inning after scoring eight runs.
The Whirlwinds were unable to respond offensively and would fall to the New Deal Lions, 21-7.
