FLOYDADA, TX – The #17 ranked Floydada Whirlwinds (10-1) looked to keep their momentum from the New Home tournament on Tuesday night as they battled the Littlefield Wildcats in a non-district game.
The Whirlwinds had good pressure throughout the first half, giving them a 36-25 lead at the end of the second quarter.
The Winds came out of halftime and struggled to find the offense that they are used to producing, only scoring 7 points in the third quarter, but still maintained their lead of 43-39.
The fourth quarter was a close fight between the two teams, but the Whirlwinds were able to pull out a team victory and win 56-55 over the Wildcats.
Floydada was led in scoring by sophomore Braun Hobbs, who had 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Senior Abran Castillo had 14 points and junior Aiden Trevino had 13 points and 5 rebounds in the Whirlwinds’ victory.
