LORENZO, TX – On Tuesday night, the Floydada Whirlwinds (1-0) had their season opener against Lorenzo in a non-district matchup.
The Whirlwinds were able to capitalize on a big third quarter to secure the victory, 67-58.
The Whirlwinds were led by sophomore Braun Hobbs, who had a big night with 26 points and 6 rebounds.
Also contributing to the Winds’ total was sophomore Tyrean Henderson, who had 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Floydada looks to keep their momentum ahead of their next matchup against Tulia on Friday.
