FORT WORTH – Already a member of a half dozen halls of fame, 98-year-old Lockney pianist Lucy Dean Record added another award to her shelf Friday night in Fort Worth, receiving the Cowtown Birthplace of Western Swing’s Golden Fiddle lifetime achievement award.
Record is already a member of the group’s Legends of Western Swing list, along with names such as Bob Wills, Tommy Duncan and Johnny Gimble. She was given the Golden Fiddle as part of their three-day festival at Fort Worth’s historic National Hall.
Record was honored last month by the Country Music Association of Texas with their Heritage Award.
