FLOYDADA – With none of the uncontested local races needing to be reported to the state, Floyd County voters overwhelmingly approved the return of the incumbent Republican candidates on one federal and multiple statewide elections Tuesday night.

With 100 percent of the vote in, County Clerk Ginger Morgan’s unofficial results show 1,470 voters out of a possible 3,659 registered in Floyd County cast their ballot in early voting and on Tuesday. Congressman Jodey Arrington carried the one federal race with 88 percent of the vote against independent Nathan Lewis’ 12 percent.

In the race for Governor, early numbers appear that Greg Abbott will win a third 4-year term, and in Floyd County he took 85 percent of the vote over Beto O’Rourke and two lower candidates.

Other races show Dan Patrick with 83 percent of the vote over Mike Collier for Lt. Governor, and Ken Paxton over his challengers for Attorney General.  Comptroller Glenn Hegar received 85 percent of his race, and Floyd County farmers overwhelmingly picked Sid Miller with 85 percent of the vote over Susan Hays.

Local unopposed races included Judge Marty Lucke, County Clerk Morgan, Commissioners Clint Bigham and David Martinez, Treasurer Lori Morales and Justice of the Peace for Precincts 1 & 4 Tali Jackson all being re-elected to their seats. Mary Jane Cisneros and Darrell Rasco will now move into the Floyd County District Clerk and Justice of the Peace 2 & 3 seats respectively.
