Lockney’s Lucy Dean Record Receives Musical Heritage Award

LUBBOCK, TX – For the past ten decades, Lucy Dean Record has been playing the piano and impacting lives in and out of Floyd County.

On Wednesday, the 98-year-old Record received one of the most prestigious awards from the CMA of Texas (CMAT), the Heritage Award.

With the recognition, the Lockney native joins Floydada’s Jason Nutt as Floyd County CMAT award winner. Nutt won Song of the Year on Tuesday at the 2021 award show, while Record received her award at the 2022 awards on Wednesday at the Cactus Theater.
