FLOYDADA, TX – The Whirlwinds (3-2) kick off district action Friday at home by hosting the Sundown Roughnecks (1-3).
For Floydada, their district (2-2A) is arguably one of the toughest in the state, with one school playing for the 2A-D1 UIL State Championship three out of the past four years.
Though Sundown hasn’t gone all the way, they have six consecutive bi-district championships since 2016, have not lost to the Whirlwinds in over ten years, and are favored by a touchdown (according to the Harris Ratings System).
Listen to the action live Friday night with Randell Sims on 106.1FM KFLP or online at www.1061FlipFM.com.
