LOCKNEY, TX – The Junior Varsity version of the Floyd County Championship was held Thursday night at Mitchell Zimmerman Field in Lockney, and the Floydada Whirlwinds took the victory, 26-14.
The Winds improve to 2-0 after opening the season last week with a victory over Ralls, 24-0.
The Longhorns (1-1) slipped to .500 on the loss after beating Seagraves one week ago, 34-28.
The 100th meeting of Lockney (0-1) and Floydada (1-0), also known as the Floyd County Championship, will be played Friday night at Charles Tyer Stadium in Floydada.
