FLOYD COUNTY – The United States will mark its 246th birthday on Monday. Across Floyd County there will be a number of places to go and events to attend in celebration.
7:00 a.m. FLOYDADA
The morning will start with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Serrato Sisters at their event space at 214. S. Main in Floydada. The meal is free and open to the public.
10:00 a.m. LOCKNEY
The annual Lockney Bike Parade will get underway at 10:00 a.m. at Main Street Church of Christ at 505 S. Main in Lockney. Refreshments will be provided after the parade.
Organizers ask everyone involved to decorate bikes, trikes, scooters, 4-wheelers, gators or golf carts and join the celebration! (Please NO floats, motorcycles, or cars)
11:00 a.m. FLOYDADA
The entire family is invited to join in the fun at the pavilion at Mississippi & Main in Floydada from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be games, water slides, train rides, a Sheriff’s Deputy dunk tank, a pie throwing contest and dozens of vendors selling food and other items so you can play, eat and shop all in one place.
2:30 p.m. FLOYDADA
The Floyd County Freedom Parade kicks off at 2:30 p.m. and will start in the Lowe’s parking lot at 2nd & California before making its way down to the Floyd County Courthouse Square. All entries are welcomed and registration opens at 1:00 p.m.
9:00 p.m. MUNCY
July 4th caps off this year with a fireworks display brought to both communities by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.
The fireworks will be set off at the Floyd County Friends Unity Center. Spectators are asked to park across U.S. 70 at CHS Chemical. Lawn chairs are encouraged and welcomed.
106.1 FLiP FM will go commercial free from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and play patriotic music to help you enjoy the fireworks.
