WOLFFORTH – A quartet of Floydada Lady Winds will have the opportunity to play one more high school softball game when they compete in the Greater West Texas Softball Coaches Association (GWTSCA) All-Star Game at Frenship on Friday, June 10.

The four players include pitcher Erin Trevino, catcher Marissa Obegron, second baseman Kailee Sanchez and shortstop Clarissa Delafuente. These girls just graduated from FCHS in May. They played key rolls in the Lady Winds going 32-5 this season and advancing to the Region 1-2A Semifinals.

“All of these players are very deserving to be selected to play in this All-Star game. It is always a neat experience for the players,” said Floydada Coach Armando Morales.

The team will be coached by Brandon Langston of Slaton, and assisted by Morales. The four Floydada players will be on the same team that is made up of 1A, 2A, 3A and TAPPS athletes in the small school contest. The large school All-Star game consists of 4A, 5A and 6A players.

The small school game will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by the large school contest at 7:00 p.m.
