Sundown defeats Lady Horns in windy Tuesday game

SUNDOWN – The Sundown Roughettes came out as strong as the west winds on Tuesday with early runs to take a 20-1 win over the Lockney Lady Horns in 3-2A softball action.

Entering the week – Sundown, Lockney and Sudan were knotted in a three-way tie for fourth place in the 3-2A softball standings. Sundown took care of business from the start by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning against the Lady Horns, then had a 10-run third inning to seal the win. At the same time, Sudan was being shut out by Floydada 15-0.

Erica Posadas and Sahaira Reyes both went 4-4 at the plate and had nine RBI combined to lead the Roughettes.

Lockney was led by Mianette Rubio and Eddeny Chavira with one hit each.
