NEW DEAL – Track and field athletes were treated to an almost perfect day of weather to compete on Friday at the New Deal Relays. Floydada and Lockney varsity teams were among eight schools that gathered for a very competitive small school track meet at Noland Stadium.
Lockney’s Haven Walker was a double winner in the girls shot put and discus. Natalie Contreras of Floydada took first in the girls high jump.
Second place finishers included Kirsten Pyle, Floydada in the girls pole vault; Contreras, Floydada in the girls 300 hurdles; Annalicia Hernandez, Lockney in the girls discus; and Izaiah Alvarado, Floydada in the boys 400.
