HALE CENTER – The Lockney Longhorns (3-2) had a good day in the opening day of the Hale Center baseball tournament by beating the West Texas-Stinnett Comanches 6-2 followed by a 12-4 win over the Tahoka Bulldogs. The Longhorns are now on a three game winning streak.
Lockney got good pitching from Dyllan Thiebaud and Josh Jimenez with each picking up a win on the mound. Thiebaud celebrated his birthday by firing 10-strikeouts and gave up two runs on two hits in a complete game against West Texas. Jimenez had seven strikeouts, walked only one batter and gave up one run on one hit in 2.1-innings of work in the Tahoka contest.
Pablo Morales carried the big stick against West Texas with a triple and a single that produced four RBI, and had two RBI in the win over Tahoka. Nathan Cineceros drove in three runs against Tahoka with a double and single.
