Longhorns fall to Olton in Consolation Championship at Littlefield

LITTLEFIELD — If you are wondering how good the Olton Mustangs are this season, just ask Lockney boys coach Kelan Verette since the Longhorns have lost to the Mustangs twice this season by similar results. Olton (17 -3) won the Consolation Championship of the 30th Annual Wildcat Classic in Littlefield on Wednesday by a 69-36 score.

Olton jumped out to an early 18-4 first quarter lead and expanded it to 37-11 at halftime. The Mustangs outscored the Longhorns in all four quarters. Chris Urbina paced Olton with 24-points.
Lockney’s leading scorer was Austin Rodriguez with 10.

The Tulia Hornets (15-5) gave the Dumas Demons (17-1) their first loss of the season 58-50 to win the Championship of the Wildcat Classic.
