LOCKNEY — Larry DeLawder, perhaps better known as Barney P. Fife, is bringing his unique brand of music and comedy to Floyd County on Tuesday with an appearance at First Baptist Church of Lockney.
DeLawder is best known for his extraordinary harmonica playing and Barney Fife impersonation, both of which he is bringing to the church on Tuesday evening. His website touts that DeLawder “is of the same size and stature as Barney and has perfected all of Barney’s mannerisms so well you will think he really is Barney!”
Lockney is just another stop in DeLawder’s extensive career that has had him travel all over the U.S. and internationally with his wife Sara and daughters Hannah and Faith, singing on cruises and appearing on numerous television shows including two Gaither Homecoming videos. DeLawder has performed in Branson, Mo. and the family has made a number of recordings over the years. A talented harmonicist, DeLawder has twice won the Harmonica World Championship.
The DeLawder family will be at First Baptist Church of Lockney, 401 S. Main St., on Tuesday, Oct. 26 beginning at 6 p.m. A love offering will be collected.
