FLOYDADA, TX -The Floyd County 4-H Clover Kid program held a heartfelt memorial event on April 23, 2025 to honor the life and memory of Hunter Wells, a cherished member of the local 4-H community.

In a quiet ceremony filled with love and remembrance, members, families, and leaders came together to plant a tree and release butterflies in tribute to Hunter’s life.

Hunter was a three-year participant in the Floyd County 4-H Clover Kid program, known for his bright spirit and enthusiastic involvement. His presence brought joy to fellow members and made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege to know him. Though young, Hunter exemplified the values of 4-H—kindness, curiosity, and a love of learning.

The memorial tree, now planted in a spot chosen for reflection and peace, will serve as a lasting symbol of Hunter’s time in the program and the many memories shared with him. The release of butterflies added a beautiful and symbolic gesture, representing transformation, freedom, and the enduring spirit of a child who touched many hearts.

Today’s ceremony was a meaningful way for the 4-H community to come together in support and remembrance. It also highlighted the strong bonds formed through youth programs like Clover Kids and the importance of celebrating each member’s unique contributions.

As the tree grows and butterflies return each season, Hunter’s memory will continue to live on within the Floyd County 4-H family.
