Floyd County Burn Ban Initiated for Seven Days

FLOYDADA, TX – Another emergency County-Wide Burn Ban is in effect for Floyd County.

Floyd County Judge Marty Lucke signed the proclamation prohibiting open flames for the next seven days.

The National Weather Service in Lubbock reports that critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop today. Relative humidity values as low as 7 percent are expected, in addition to southwest winds around 25 to 35 mph, gusting to 45 mph.

This ban will expire next Thursday morning.
