FLOYDADA, TX — The Floydada Lady Winds delivered a powerful performance Tuesday night, sweeping a doubleheader against the Memphis Lady Cyclones with back-to-back shutout victories.

The first matchup, a makeup game from earlier in the season, saw the Lady Winds explode offensively and shut down the Lady Cyclones with a commanding 17-0 win. Floydada came out strong and never let up, thanks to standout performances from several key players.

Jenna Martinez had a stellar game at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBI. Kirsten Pyle added two hits, scored three times, and brought in two runs. Miranda Reyes also contributed two hits and drove in two runs in the rout.

Game two continued the Lady Winds’ momentum, as they cruised to a 15-0 victory to cap off the evening. Alli Hernandez led the charge with three hits and three runs scored, while Jenna Martinez continued her dominance with two hits, including a home run, and four RBI.

On the mound, Madison Pyle was electric, striking out nine Memphis batters and keeping them off the scoreboard once again.

With the two shutouts, the Lady Winds improve their district standing and continue to build momentum as postseason play approaches.
