LOCKNEY, TX — The Clarendon Lady Broncos used a massive sixth-inning rally to break open a tight game and defeat the Lockney Lady Horns 14-2 on Tuesday evening.
For much of the game, the contest remained competitive. Clarendon held a modest 5-2 lead through five innings, but the Lady Broncos erupted for nine runs in the top of the sixth to put the game out of reach. Their offense tallied 17 total hits on the night, with contributions coming up and down the lineup.
Lockney struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, managing just two runs on seven hits. Despite a solid fourth inning that brought in two runs and gave the Lady Horns some momentum, they were unable to keep pace with Clarendon’s late offensive surge.
Both teams were clean in the field for the majority of the night, with each side committing just one error.
The loss drops the Lady Horns’ district record, while Clarendon continues to gain momentum with a strong showing at the plate and in the field.
