FLOYDADA, TX – A burn ban remains in effect for Floyd County at the direction of Judge Marty Lucke.
The ban, enacted initially on March 11, 2025, will continue based on extreme drought conditions and high winds expected this week.
In Texas, when drought conditions exist, a burn ban can be imposed by a county judge or commissioners court prohibiting or restricting outdoor burning for public safety.
