FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds battled against the Wellington Skyrockets on Tuesday.
The Whirlwinds jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first inning.
Wellington battled back in the top of the third inning, scoring three runs of their own to tie it up at 3-3.
The Whirlwinds offense would respond with one run of their own in the bottom half of the inning, regaining the lead 4-3.
The Skyrockets’ offense came to life in the top of the fourth and sixth inning, securing the victory 6-4.
Floydada falls to 4-6 overall and will look ahead to their game against Clarendon on Friday.
