Whirlwinds Dominate in District Opener in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds traveled to Memphis on Friday to battle in their district opener against the Cyclones.
Floydada jumped out in the top of the first inning, scoring three runs and taking a 3-0 lead.
The Cyclones answered in the bottom half of the inning with one run of their own, making the score 3-1.
The Whirlwinds offense would come to life in the fourth inning, adding three more runs and extending the lead 6-1.
Floydada continued to add in the fifth and sixth inning, securing the district victory 11-1.
The Whirlwinds move to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in district play and will face Wellington on Tuesday.
