CLARENDON, TX – ​In a high-scoring district baseball matchup on Friday, March 21, 2025, the Lockney Longhorns fell to the Clarendon Broncos with a final score of 20-12.

Lockney: 5 runs in the 1st inning, 0 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, 0 in the 4th, 5 in the 5th, 0 in the 6th and 7th.​

Clarendon: 5 runs in the 1st inning, 1 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, 7 in the 5th, 4 in the 6th.​

Final Totals:

Lockney: 12 runs, 3 hits, 7 errors.​

Clarendon: 20 runs, 10 hits, 0 errors.​

The Longhorns’ offense was highlighted by a strong start, scoring five runs in the first inning and adding five more in the fifth. However, defensive challenges, evidenced by seven errors, hindered their ability to contain the Broncos’ lineup.​

Looking ahead, Lockney aims to rebound in their upcoming district game against the Quanah Indians on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM. This away game presents an opportunity for the Longhorns to improve their district standing.
