LOCKNEY, TX—Despite a slower month, W.J. Mangold Memorial Hospital and Cogdell Clinic recorded profits for September.

The Lockney General Hospital Board heard from CEO Vince DiFranco that the clinic’s volume included 829 visits, including 61 new patients and 187 emergency room visits during the month. The lab performed more than 3,400 tests, and the Radiology department added 309 tests, including 86 CT scans.

“Total gross revenue (charges) for September was $1,737,914 compared to a budget of $1,829,158 and $1,738,651 in September 2023,” DiFranco explained during the Board’s regular monthly meeting. “Other operating revenue was $64,315, adjustments were $982,127.” He added that overall expenses were below budget at $971,368, and with non-operating revenue of $151,471, the net gain was $206 for the month.

Also, based on the medical staff’s recommendation, Brent Barker motioned to approve the credentialing of Dr. Gary Mangold, Dr. Kevin Stennett, and Dr. Cynthia Schlueter. Becky McPherson seconded the motion, which was approved. The reappointments are for a standard period of 2 years.
