FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds and Lockney Longhorns were matched up for a non-district game on Monday.
The #11-ranked Whirlwinds jumped out early to a 23-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Whirlwinds’ offense found a spark and extended their lead 44-25, going into halftime.
The Longhorns fought back in the second half, but would fall short 82-54.
Floydada moves to 3-2 overall and will face Idalou on Tuesday.
The Longhorns fall to 0-3 and will travel to play Lubbock Roosevelt on December 3.
