FLOYD COUNTY, TX – The Floyd County Sheriff’s office reports the following activity.
On November 4th, 2024, at approximately 5:17 p.m., a Deputy was dispatched to 1000 North FM 378 regarding a home burglary. The complainant reported that his home had been ransacked and that jewelry, Nike shoes, cologne, and various items were missing. Suspects have been identified in this case.
On November 6th, 2024, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 200 SE 2nd Street in Lockney to investigate a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported a red Pontiac stolen from the residence. The Hale County Sheriff’s Office later recovered the car, and a resident of Planview was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
On November 11th, 2024, a business owner contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that his manager had embezzled approximately twenty-five thousand dollars while selling the business to another individual. The new owner also reported that the company was missing an additional eight hundred dollars. This case is still under investigation.
On October 18th, 2024, a deputy responded to a burglary in the 1100 block of Southwest 11th Street in Lockney. The complainant reported that several firearms had been stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office is following up on leads on this case.
On November 8th, 2024, a deputy was dispatched to the 800 Block of County Road 129 in Floyd County regarding a theft. The deputy received information that an employee had taken a fuel card from a company and incurred charges totaling approximately eight thousand dollars for fuel in his vehicle. This case is still under investigation.
On November 9th, 2024, a deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of FM 2286 in Floyd County regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim reported leaving the 2011 white Ford Edge beside the roadway while bird-hunting. After returning, the car was missing, and his companion’s vehicle had also been broken into. The car was later located unoccupied on FM 54 between Petersburg and Abernathy.
On November 9th, 2024, a deputy was dispatched to 600 Southwest 6th Street in Lockney regarding a verbal disturbance. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening; no arrests were made.
