FLOYDADA, TX – Citing investments of more than $860 million across West Texas, Atmos Energy filed a system-wide general rate case.
“From January 1, 2018, through June 30, 2024, Atmos Energy spent more than $860 million in capital expenditures in the West Texas Division (WTX), and more than 86 percent was spent to enhance the safety, reliability, and integrity of our natural gas system” explains a press release from the Dallas-based natural gas provider.
If approved, residential customers will pay an additional $17 per month on average, while others will pay around $24 monthly.
However, Floydada leaders voted unanimously to suspend the rate increase during their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday.
In other business, the Floydada City Council approved a motion on Ordinance No. 24-9 Prohibited Technology Policy (TikTok) on Government-Owned or Leased Devices (Senate Bill No. 1893), which prohibits the use of the app TikTok.
