FLOYD COUNTY, TX—Today is Election Day across the country, and voters will go to the polls to choose their next president.

Former President Donald J. Trump is running as the Republican challenger, while Vice President Kamala Harris is the Democratic candidate.

The U.S. Senate seat is also on the ballot today. Two-term incumbent Ted Cruz (R) currently holds it, but Colin Allred (D) is challenging it.

All 38 Texas congressional seats, including several open seats resulting from year-end retirements, are up for election. Locally, incumbent Jodey Arrington (R) does not have a Democratic challenger – although Bernard Johnson (L) and Nathan Lewis (I) are also running for the seat.

Locally, the race for Floyd County Sheriff will be decided between incumbent and current Sheriff Paul Raisez and write-in challenger Ruben DeLeon.

Voting is open today for Floydada residents at the Floyd County Courthouse Annex Building (110 South Wall Street) and in Lockney at the Dove Room (305 North Main) from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
