FLOYDADA, TX – The city will get a new council member following tonight’s Floydada City Council meeting.
Steve Lloyd, who has represented District 3 for many years, has submitted his resignation. The Council is expected to name Tate Greer to fill the unexpired term.
The Council will also discuss and possibly take action on the Planning and Zoning Committee process for the final condemnation of properties at 415 W. Jackson Street and 128 W. Crockett Street in Floydada.
They will also consider recommendations for a variance request from the same committee at 914 S. Wall Street and 713 W. Virginia Street.
The meeting begins at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

3. Public Forum – Citizens may address the council.
4. Discussion/Action on the Planning and Zoning Committee’s recommendation on the variance request at 914 S. Wall Street, Floydada, Texas.
5. Discussion/Action on the Planning and Zoning Committee’s recommendation on the variance request at 713 W. Virginia Street, Floydada, Texas.
6. Discussion/Action on Planning and Zoning Committee results for final condemnation process on the following property: 415 W. Jackson St. Lot: 5; Blk: 46; Addn: Original Town, Francisco Lamas & Janie Garza
7. Discussion/Action on Planning and Zoning Committee results for final condemnation process on the following property: 128 W. Crockett St. Lot: 15-16 W2/3 14; Blk: 137; Addn: Original Town, Taxing Entities
8. Executive Session—This is a meeting to discuss personnel matters in accordance with the Open Meeting Act, Texas Government Code Annotated, Chapter 551.074.
9. Discussion/Action on the resignation of Councilmember Steve Lloyd for District #3.
10. Discussion/Action on appointing Tate Greer to fill Steve Lloyd’s vacancy for District #3.
11. Approve minutes of the last regular meeting held September 9th, 2024.
12. Review cash balances and investments and approve payment of the September 2024 transfers, fixed expenses, and city bills.
13. Adjourn.
