FLOYDADA, TX – Moderate to severe drought now covers 100 percent of Floyd County, leading County Commissioners to implement a county-wide burn ban on Monday.

When drought conditions exist in Texas, a burn ban can be imposed by a county judge or county commissioners court prohibiting or restricting outdoor burning for public safety.

Commissioners also voted to ratify the appointment of election judges (alternates) and determine the central counting station and polling places.
