LOCKNEY, TX – After 15 years in Snyder, Dr. David Kerr is excited to join the staff of W.J. Mangold Memorial Hospital as a new physician serving the Emergency Department and inpatient care.
Kerr grew up on the South Plains and received his Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University. He then received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and completed his Residency in Family Medicine in Tacoma, Washington.
“I first moved to Snyder from Canada when I was 15,” Kerr explains. “My father is a physician and moved here to work. I went to college and was away for 11 years and decided to come back because I knew I wanted to live in a small town and had enjoyed the time I spent here.”

In 2023, Dr. Kerr decided to focus his career on emergency medicine and joined the Emergency Department schedule at W. J. Mangold. He joins Dr. Jade Ireland and Dr. Emily Capt as full-time physicians serving the emergency department and admitting patients at the hospital.
